I am using the RadControls for Silverlight Q2 2011 and the Metro theme.

When using this theme, the horizontal grid line is white and I am not able to override that by setting the HorizontalGridLineBrush.

If I use the OfficeBlue theme then I can override the brush colour.

Why does the Metro them prevent me overriding this property?
How can I force the grid to use the colour I specify in HorizontalGridLineBrush?

Hello Paul,

By default grid lines are not visible in this theme.
Have you tried to set GridLinesVisibility property of the grid to Horizontal

Hi Vanya

Yes, I have set GridLinesVisibility to Both. If I set a background colour on the grid, I can see both vertical and horizontal lines but the horizontal lines always seem to be the PaletteInstance.MainColor which in my case is White.

If I specify my own VerticalGridlinesBrush and HorizontalGridlinesBrush, I do see the colour specified for the vertical lines but it has no effect on the horizontal ines.

If I use the OfficeBlue theme the colour I specify in the brushes mentioned above does appear.

Is there some other property being set on the horizontal line that would prevent my HorizontalGridlinesBrush from having any effect?

Hi Paul,

I could definitely confirm that we had this problem in Metro theme in Silverlight 4 environment.
As it turns out, upgrading to Q3 2011 is the best option we may offer in this particular case.
Hope this helps.

Hi Vanya

Upgrading to Q3 2001 has indeed solved the problem.

Many thanks for the response.
