I am probably asking the impossible here but I need to create a .NET Console Application that will generate a Word Document using a Word Template.  Parts of the Word document will be populated from data stored in SQL Server.  We are currently using Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX 2016 R3 version 45. Our preferred language is C#.  If you could point me in the right direction and provide me with some sort of sample code, I would greatly appreciate it.  Any help that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Todd,

The MS Word template files (DOTX) are not supported in RadWordsProcessing. We have already logged a feature request and you can submit your vote for its implementation as well as track its progress through the related public item.

I am not sure how it will fit your requirements but you can check the Mail Merge functionality of RadWordsProcessing. It allows you to create a document containing merge fields and populate them with different data. There is an example of this functionality in the XAML SDK repository which may help you get a better understanding of the feature.

Hope this information is helpful.

Hi Nimesh,

This feature is still not scheduled for implementation as the development team is working on more demanded tasks. Currently, I cannot say when the task will be scheduled for implementation. Please, make sure you are following the correct public item: WordsProcessing: Support for importing dotm, dotx and docm files, because the one mentioned in this post is closed as a duplicate. I apologize for the inconvenience this missing functionality might be causing you.

Regards,
Martin
