How to clear push notification tray icon

I have an app on cordova 3.2 using AppBuilder to both iOS and Android.

I got push notifications to work but I cannot figure out how to tell the device that I dealt with the notification.  How do I remove the Icon from the Notification tray?

When I get a notification, my android puts my apps icon on the Notification tray (for me, upper left corner).  When I go to the app, I get the notification and deal with it, however when I close the app, the notification remains in the notification tray.  When I launch teh app again, nothing happens because the app knows it has dealt with that notification, but the icon is still there annoying the user.

Thank you for reporting this.

Could you elaborate a bit more on the issue? I was not able to understand if the notification stays on the tray after you have clicked on it. Or you are directly opening the application (not from the push) and the notification in the tray still stays after that?

Did a solution for this ever get sorted out?

Also when I send a iOS notification the contains a line break (ie. typing in a textarea and using return to go to another line) the notification never gets to the handler in the pushplugin. 
I am also using AppBuilder and the PushPlugin contained in it.
If I remove the line breaks the notification goes to the device just fine.
Does any one else see this behaviour.

Hi Darren,

Thanks for writing.

I believe the latest version of the PushPlugin contains a proper fix for the above issue. You should be able to import it inside your AppBuilder project, after disabling the integrated PushPlugin from the project properties.

Further, about your second concern, as said in my reply in your other ticket (ID 830086) we will further investigate the issue on our side and will let you know of the results as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, I was not able to test the faulty behavior last week. So, I still don't have answers. Please excuse me for the delay.

Further, can you share if the latest version of the PushPlugin fixed the other issue?

Yes I have installed the latest PushPlugin and can confirm it fixes the notification issue above.
