I'm a little puzzled at where Telerik fits in with the ASP.NET framework when it comes to the Razor view engine. I have a ASP.NET Razor web site (not MVC, Telerik Razor documentation all points to MVC) but am at a loss as to how to integrate Telerik controls. Is there some documentation which will help me?

Hi David,

I am not sure what you mean by ASP.NET Razor WebSite (not MVC). Razor is a view engine used in ASP.NET MVC and the default view engine in WebMatrix. If you are referring to WebMatrix, note that RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX are not supported in this platform.

Veli,

Thanks for your quick response. I meant that I wasn't using WebMatrix but rather a VisualStudio template (ASP.NET Website (Razor)). Your answer clarifies my understanding and thank you for that. I've only just started experimenting seriously with MVC and have just created a Telerik MVC 3 project to get a clearer understanding of how Telerik control integrate with Razor.

David

Hello David,

All right. Good luck with that. You may want to check out the Telerik Extensions for ASP.NET MVC - a suite of flexible UI extensions built from scratch for flexibility and performance.

Hi David,

To extend my colleague Veli's answer, our ASP.NET AJAX controls work in WebForms (ASPX) MVC3 views only as specified in this documentation topic. Razor view engine is supported only by our native MVC extensions which we do recommend for MVC development.

Thanks for your excellent replies. The project I'm working on demands ASP.NET Razor (Webforms) therefore I am unable to use Telerik controls until we can look at MVC and migrate the application to that model.

Hello,

is there any plan to migrate all the RadControls forASP.NET AJAX  to kendo ui for asp.net MVC ?

RadControls forASP.NET AJAX currently offers 70 controls which is much more than what kendo ui has

Thanks
