I am testing an identical web product that I am developing scripts to perform on its placement on two different servers.  The product and execution flow is identical but I am having issues of finding and clicking on the same element (link) that exists visually and functionally, but differs by the primary target.

The element is a gear icon and it differs in the primary target by:

Server 1 Primary Target: /HomePage0/AdminOptionsLink

Server 2 Primary Target: /HomePage/AdminOptionsLink

I am fairly new to Test Studio and wondering how I can just find and click on 'AdminOptionsLink' as a primary target and 'generalize' so that Home and Home0 do not interfere with finding and clicking this element.

Can you suggest, or point me in the right direction for further documentation that addresses this problem?

Hello Tom,

Thank you for choosing Test Studio.

In general the element is recorded under different page because there are differences in the page properties. It is possible to merge pages as described in this article.

I hope this answer to your question.
