I get the following error for "RadControls_for_ASP.NET_AJAX_and_SharePoint_2010_Trial" setup.

"Setup detected that you have manually installed Telerik parts for Sharepoint. Please uninstall manually Telerik parts for Sharepoint and backup any customizations you made to apply them Later."

Prior to the above message, I was in the process of install and machine crashed. I uninstalled and install again and I got above error.

I can not install again. What do I mannually uninstall?

Thanks,

Hi Pankaj,

It seems that for some reason RadControls have remained deployed on your SharePoint server. You have two options to uninstall the web parts. The first one is to follow the manual uninstall steps described in the Installation and Deployment article in the documentation.

The second option is to uninstall RadControls using the SharePoint 2010 Central Administration:
  1. Open SharePoint 2010 Central Administration;
  2. Navigate to System Settings -> Manage farm solutions;
  3. Click on the RadControls solution;
  4. Select Retract Solution and follow the steps;
  5. After you finish return to the page with the solutions and click on the RadControls solution again;
  6. Select Remove Solution;

Now you can try to run the installer again.

Sincerely yours,

Thank you. The second step worked.

I could run the install again. But this time install is stopped at some step. I have attached the screen shot.

Hi Pankaj,

It is expected that this step takes a while. For how long it was idle?

Can you rerun the installer again with logging enabled and wait as long as it takes to complete. If it doesn't end for a reasonable period of time you can send us the log file so that we can try to determine the reason. Here is how you can run the installer with logging enabled:
  1. Open the Command Prompt;
  2. Navigate to the MSI file;
  3. Run the command: msiexec /i [RadControls_Installer_FileName].msi /limev RadControls.log
  4. Wait for the installer to complete;

All the best,
Petar
