Growing Crosstab vertical instead of horizontal

Hey folks, 

I need a event count table. I have two type of tupple from sql datasource; EventDate and EventID. All i want is counting IDs at the same date.
I can do this with using crosstab by putting Date to Column groups and ID to Detail Values with Count() expression added. But when i do this, it grows horizontally (horGrow.png).
If i put Date to Row group instead of Column, the count function doesn't work, even I type it manually(verGrow.png). 

How can I get what i want?

Is there a way to make count function work well with row groups?

Or can we change row group with column group so it grow vertically?

Hello Skyechuu,

To aggregate values for the row group open Group Explorer for the CrossTab and set grouping expression for detail section in Row Groups to the date field (EventDate). 
Check the attached report demonstrating this approach that can be opened with the latest version of Standalone Designer.

If this approach does not help or your scenario is different please attach a sample report demonstrating your current settings and test data in a support ticket.

Hey Katia,

Thank you for answer! I solved my problem with not using crosstab wizard at all. Instead of this, I created empty crosstab, and I filled the cells manually with functions that I need. It worked perfectly!

But when I fill the cells manually with same information, on crosstab that I made with crosstab wizard -as I said on my question- some functinos like Count() or Max(), etc.. doesn't work.

Hi Skyechuu,

Note, that CrossTab Wizard automatically adds the grouping for rows and columns when you specify the grouping criteria.

If you add empty CrossTab the grouping expressions for row/column groups need to be specified manually.
