Hi,

I'm just wondering what the road map for the Html5 Report Viewer looks like. Any plans to incorporate the report parameters more like they are in the Asp.Net WebForms Report Viewer?

Thanks,

Rich

Hi Rich,

The provided by default parameters templates and way of handling are considered with the possible target browsers - mobile and desktop, and the need of responsive layout regardless the device.

The HTML5 Report Viewer comes with templates that can be edited to conform custom requirements as well. Also the HTML/CSS/JS nature of the viewer allows more flexible incorporation with custom UI, even without modifying the viewer's templates.

Let us know your concerns regarding report parameters, so we can advise you accordingly.

After doing some more testing, the Viewer in its current state seems to meet my needs for now.

However, I have another question. I upgraded to the 2014 Q1 Reporting today and since I have done that, I am unable to run my site. I get the following error:

Compilation Error
Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately.

Compiler Error Message: CS0234: The type or namespace name 'Mvc' does not exist in the namespace 'Telerik.ReportViewer' (are you missing an assembly reference?)

I've checked all my references several times and seem to have the correct dlls. Is there a known issue with the latest Telerik.ReportViewer.Mvc dll? Something interesting is when I try to reference Telerik.ReportViewer.Mvc in a cs file, it shows up correctly, but if I try to reference in a cshtml file, I only get Telerik.ReportViewer.Common.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In case anyone else runs into this issue, it ended up being that I lost the CopyLocal = true settings on the Telerik.Reporting and Telerek.ReportViewer.Mvc references somewhere doing the upgrade.

Hey Chad,

Thanks for this.

I had this exact error and was pulling my hair out :)

Fixed it in no time.

Hello,

Our recommendation in such cases is to go through the Manual Setup articles (e.g. this one) and to check each step and if the settings are included in the project.
