I'd previously created my own custom control to pull events from our Exchange server and display them on my employer's intranet website.  I really like the day, week, month, and timeline views of the RadScheduler, but there are (just a few) cases where my own view does a better job of showing upcoming events and event details.

I'd love it if there were a way to create a custom view to plug into the RadScheduler so I could the best of both worlds.  Alternatively, if I could add another View Tab to the header, I'd be content to hide everything but the header and display my own control, wired to make use the properties of the RadScheduler control.

Hello Paul,

Yes, we are planning to implement the ability to add custom views to RadScheduler, but this feature is not yet scheduled in our agenda. I am sending you a javascript workaround which might work well for your case. Please, find it attached.

Hi Peter,
Is this custom view feature is available in Version 2009.2.701.20 of RadScheduler?

Thanks!

Hi Amir,

Thank you for your interest. We still haven't had a chance to implement this feature.

Currently, this feature is with low priority, but if there is an increased demand for it, we will speed it up. Thank you for your interest.

Thanks for the update Peter.

Is there a PITS item I can use to vote for it?

Hi Stuart,

There isn't a public item in the PITS about this feature. We are monitoring the forums and the tickets to get an estimate of how popular this request is.

Cheers,

Hi Stuart,

Of course - your opinion is important to us.

Can you clarify what you mean by custom view? Is it Agenda view that you are looking for or any other type of view in particular?

Kind regards,

Peter,

> Can you clarify what you mean by custom view?
Basically, a way of adding to the collection of view controls so I can add one (or more) options, so that I might end up with ....

Day, Week, Month, TimeLine, Year, List.

Each of the custom views would, ideally, be able to be populated via something like a <ContentTemplate> in the Scheduler's mark-up. The developer could then add any kind of appointment-related view of the data in the Scheduler's appointments collection, whether it is a simple list, or a complex chart of appointments by resource with a drilldown option for costings, or, well, anything really.

I'm not looking for you guys to produce custom views for us, but for you to allow us to create them for ourselves.

I'd be more than happy to discuss this further either here or privately.

Thanks for elaborating on this concept. I will bookmark this thread for now and we might get back to you once we begin considering the specifications of a custom view.

Have there been any advances for a custom view? I also need to display a list view style view in the scheduler, exactly as described. The best way I can see of doing it at the moment involves a lot of javascript and mucking around.

If there have not been, is it possible to customize the header bar at all? Ideally I'd like to make my own header bar which sends the appropriate commands to the scheduler display itself - this way I could add a list view without too much hassle.

Hi Andrew Best,

You can add a link in the header using the approach from this forum post. Then, from a client event you can perform server-side action using AjasRequest as described in this help topic.
