For some reason, when running the friends app on the simulator, the header looks right, but when running on iPhone, there is extra margin at the top of the header. It appears it is trying to compensate for top status bar.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hello ,
In iOS7 there was a switch to a translucent status bar and this change caused a serious issue for hybrid web applications as described in the Everything Hybrid Web Apps Need to Know About the Status Bar in iOS7 blog post. In order to work around the issue AppBuilder now supports the StatusBar Cordova plug-in and Kendo UI Mobile is updated to detect whether the application is running in iOS7, and if so, compensates for the status bar in the layout automatically.
Please also note that our latest release (v. 2.1,released on 9.04.2014 ) fixed an issue with the built-in project templates which used to cause an issue in some cases when using the StatusBar or the Keyboard Apache Cordova plugins. This means that if your solution was created with a previous version of AppBuilder and Kendo UI Mobile I would recommend updating the Kendo UI Mobile library following the steps outlined in the Update the Code Libraries in Your Project tutorial. If this doesn't help, can you please share which iOS version you're testing against and check whether the StatusBar plug-in is enabled in your Friends application? A few snapshots demonstrating the layout you're seeing would also help us better understand the case so that we can suggest a solution that better suits your needs.
