exporttoexcel and exporttoword gives junk vales from read grid

Ian using read grid view to display details on my website. But the exporttoexcel and exporttoword options give me junk balus as result. What's as the exporttoword2007 and exporttoexcel2007 works correctly.

what's the reason for this. Does this have anything to do with the word out office installation on the servers?

I am using an old version telerik 4.0.1.

 Please assist.

Hi Nithin,

Note that with the latest version of our controls we provide a new export formats which export the grid to new XLSX and DOCX format. Also I am not sure which version is the one you are using. Could you please select a Properties when you right click on the Telerik.Web.UI dll file and check the product version in the Details tab?

 The DLL that we are using is RadGrid.Net2.dll with version 4.5.1.0

Hi Nithin,

Note that the version that you are using is not supported from a long time ago. Also this version does not support the new Excel and Word formats. I would recommend you to update to some recent version and check whether the issue that you are facing remains.

Hi,

 The issue is resolved by changing the export function from exporttoword  to exporttoword2007. I am wondering what are the difference between them and even though they produce DOC files how come one the exporttoword2007 creates proper output. Basically I am looking for the Reason. Does it have anything to do with the change of DOC file types to Word ​97-2003 document?
