When export to excel is executed Excel file report error:
The file you are trying to open, 'SomeFile.xls' , is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you wabt to open the file now? Yes, No, Help
When yes is clicked file is opened.

You can use ExcelML type and save the file with xml extension.

This file even with XML extension will still be associated with MS Excel.

Hi Vlad,
I can understand that, but the clients are adamant it has to be xls. Can you give me any information if you plan to do anything about the xls format in the future?
