Hi,

Exporting to Excel with the 'ExportSettings.IgnorePaging = true' ignores invisible columns.

So basically all columns get printed.

Thanks

Hi Guido,

Thank you for contacting us regarding this problem.

It seems all the columns are exported even if you have Display="false" setting. It doesn't seem related to the IgnorePaging feature. You can still use Visible="false" instead.

I have notified our developers and the issue will be fixed shortly. I hope the workaround is applicable for you meanwhile. I have also updated your Telerik points for notifying us about this problem.

Best wishes,

I'm experience the same problems. However, even when I set the columns Visible=False and Display=False and the IgnorePaging=True on the ExportSetting, I still get the hidden columns. It works just fine if I turn IgnorePaging=False and just let it run through, but then I only get one page exported to the Excel file.

Hi Adam,

Would you please share with us whether you use the Q3 2007 Prometheus version? The workaround works fine locally so we would appreciate if you can submit support ticket sending a sample web site which reproduces the problem. We will gladly look into it and find a solution for you.

Yes, I am using the Q3 2007 version of prometheus. I actually don't need a sample, because the web samples you have posted online are subject to this problem. Simply go to the exporting section of the demos for the radgrid, choose ignore paging and click on export Excel, and you'll see that there are two extra empty columns to the left that are set to visible=false by default. I believe one of these columns is the expand collapse column.

Hello Adam,

This problem is already fixed. The Q3 Service Pack expected next week will officially address the issue. We are sorry for the temporary inconvenience.

Should anything else popup, please let us know.

Kind regards,

Hello,

I installed the Q3 sp1 and the problem doesn't seeem to be corrected, I get all the display=no columns + somme more columns filled with undefined data (may be internal columns for selection).

More I tried all methodes found in grid in forum to avoid exporting the children table in a master-child situation and find no way to get only master data (or child data).
Is there a known workaround ?

Ideally, later after bugs corrected , for Excel I would appreciate to have parent table in one workbook and child in another with a column reference to the parent in its workbook. :)

CS

Could you help.

Hi Christian,

We have to confirm that the issue is still present in the current version of our grid - we apologize if this is causing you inconvenience. The problem turns out to be more complex than we initially thought and will require additional time and efforts to be fixed. We will do our best to address it for the next version of RadGrid control.

All the best,
Plamen

Thanks for answer,

Do you know if the problem is affecting classic RadGrid ?
Please keep me informed of your progress because Prometheus is my legal platform now the VS2008 has been launched.

Best Regards
