HI.

I have a problem running VisualStudio 2010 Professional after installing JustTrace. I get this message when I try to load the VS:

System.ArgumentException: Parameter is not valid. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070057 (E_INVALIDARG))
   at EnvDTE.Command.set_Bindings(Object pVar)
at Telerik.JustTrace.AddIn.JustTraceAddInBase.#qH(Command namedCommand, JustTraceCommand command, Boolean beginGroup) at c:\B\Minotaur\JustTrace CI Build\Sources\Telerik.JustTrace.AddIn\JustTraceAddInBase.cs:line 375
   at Telerik.JustTrace.AddIn.JustTraceAddInBase.#pH(Boolean beginGroup) at c:\B\Minotaur\JustTrace CI Build\Sources\Telerik.JustTrace.AddIn\JustTraceAddInBase.cs:line 352
   at Telerik.JustTrace.AddIn.JustTraceAddInBase.#uy() at c:\B\Minotaur\JustTrace CI Build\Sources\Telerik.JustTrace.AddIn\JustTraceAddInBase.cs:line 297

VS does not crashes after that and continue to work correctly. But this message appears every time on IDE loading. Is there any way to solve this?

Thank you.

Hello Aliaksandr,

Thank you for your feedback. We need more information to reproduce this bug on our side. Some customers with non-English Visual Studio versions experience similar issues. Is that your case too? Do you have localized Windows or Visual Studio? If this is the case, is it an option to send you an internal build?

Kind regards,
Mike

Yes this is the case. :)

I have both localized version of  Windows and Visual Studio. Maybe that's the problem. Could you send me an internal build? (Of course if it is possible).

OS version: Windows 7 Home Basic (Russian localization)
IDE: Visual Studio 2010 Professional (Russian localization)

Thank you.

Hello Aliaksandr,

We prepared an internal JustTrace build that solves the bug for Dutch and German Visual Studio versions. Please install the attached file and let us know if it works for you. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Hi.

Thanks for this build.

But unfortunately it does not helps. :( Situation become even worse. Now there are three messages on VS loading. Each one appears after closing the previous one. All have the same content.

I tried to solve this problem and found out that manual adding some JustTrace assemblies to the GAC causes changes in behaviour of VS loading. I have the JustMock installed and once browsing the GAC I found some of JustMock assemblies there:
- Telerik.JustMock
- Telerik.JustMock.AddIn
- Telerik.JustMock.MSBuild

Then I decided to add manually JustTrace assemblies:
- Telerik.JustTrace.About
- Telerik.JustTrace.AddIn
- Telerik.JustTrace.Api
- Telerik.JustTrace.AutoUpdates
- Telerik.JustTrace.Common
As more as possible. :) After that no more error messages appeared. But VS alerted me that there are problems on loading JustTrace addin and proposed to disable it. Once i did it - strange messages ceased to appear but also JustTrace addin become unavailable.

What do you think about it?

Thanks.

Hello Aliaksandr,

Sorry to hear that the internal JustTrace build did not help. I would strongly encourage you to remove any JustTrace files from GAC. Having cached JustTrace files could result in problems when you install a new version. Is it possible to send us the error messages you get during VS loading?

Hi.

I have removed JustTrace assemblies from GAC and messages became to appear again.

I have attached three screens displaying what happens on VS loading. Every message appears after closing of the previous one. The text of the messages on the screens:
System.ArgumentException: Invalid input parameter. (Exception at HRESULT: 0x80070057 (E_INVALIDARG))

Thank you.

Hello Aliaksandr,

Thank you very much for the detailed feedback. Last time I unintentionally sent you JustTrace compiled in debug mode. That is why you see these error messages. I am sending you a new internal build that does not contain these annoying messages. Please find the attached file and give it a try.

We appreciate your feedback and if you find any other JustTrace bugs please do not hesitate to contact us. I added some Telerik points to your account as well. Once again, thank you for helping us make JustTrace a better product.

Kind regards,

Hi.

What internal build do you mean? You probably forgot to attach the file to your post. :)

Thank you. Sorry for delay with the response.
