I installed the light editor and then saw you had to activate it for each sub site.  Then I saw this page http://www.telerik.com/help/radeditormoss/Change_the_RadEditor_features_scope.html

It says you can uninstall, edit some files and reinstall.  Then you activate it at the collection level.  My problem is it still seems to be at the site level.  I only see the features listed under "Site Features".  Enabling them on a parent site does not enable on the child site.

What did I miss?

Hello,

What value did you use for the new scope? I tried changing the scope to "Site" (site collection scope) and the features correctly appeared in the root site settings page under "Site Collection features". Here is exactly what I did:

stsadm -o uninstallfeature -name RadEditorFeature -force

stsadm -o uninstallfeature -name RadEditorFeatureIE -force

notepad "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\RadEditorFeature\Feature.xml"
(changed Scope="Web" to Scope="Site")

notepad "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\RadEditorFeatureIE\Feature.xml"
(changed Scope="Web" to Scope="Site")

stsadm -o installfeature -name RadEditorFeature -force

stsadm -o installfeature -name RadEditorFeatureIE -force

Hi

How come the link http://www.telerik.com/help/radeditormoss/Change_the_RadEditor_features_scope.html doesn't work anymore?

How do I get the RAD Editor to be activated by default when sub sites are created? Does the post below still cover it?

I have the latest full version?

Thanks

Joss

Hi Joss,

The help link is now in the ASP.NET AJAX section of our documentation - http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet-ajax/change-the-radeditor-features-scope.html

All the best,
