Hi Lenny_shp,

Would you please provide a detailed explanation on what exactly you want to achieve? E.g if there is no content in the editor, a message should be shown; when you click in the content area, the message should disappear; when you delete content the message should appear again, etc. When you provide a detailed enough explanation and also determine whether you prefer this to happen on the client or on the server (if both scenarios are possible) we will do out best to provide you with a solution.

Best wishes,

How do I apply the EmptyMessage property to RadEditor?  I do not see it showing up with intellisense.

Hi Lenny_shp,

I apologize if I was unclear in my reply - there is not such a property for the RadEditor but if you provide a detailed description of the desired result, we will provide you with some code which will help you achieve what you need.

Best wishes,

I think that's what I'm looking for too.

The application is for a Contact form, where you need to assume the lowest possible level of internet expertise, and provide as much guidance as possible.

I use RadInput for fields like EmailAddress, Subject, etc etc... and provide empty messages like "Please enter your Email Address here"

I want to make the controls all appear consistent, and so I'd like to "fake" an empty message for the RadEditor, so it's displaying "Please enter your Message here"  ...until they either enter the content area of the editor or enter a value into the editor.

I'm sure I could work the code out if I have to, but if it has already been done... I could certainly use it.

Hello MB,

Thank you for the detailed description.

Please, review the solution provided in the following forum thread: EmptyText just like radTextBox. It could be helpful for your scenario.
