Hi !!

Is there any plans for an embedded PDF viewer component in your library?

Need to show an PDF in our application and found that this component exists in one of your rivals products (componentone).

Keep up the good work

Regards

Fredrik

Hello Fredrik,

Thank you for your question!

We have a pdf viewer component for Silverlight, but we do not have plans porting it to WP soon. So I can't really stick to any dates about this one.

Hi Tau,

We are considering porting our Silverlight PDF Viewer to Windows Phone but as we are not at the point of having good estimations - I cannot share further information on the topic.

Hi Raghav,

Thanks for writing and for your interest in RadControls for Windows Phone.

We do not have a PDF Viewer component and also do not have any samples for creating PDF Viewer for Windows Phone. Could you please share with us which built in PDF Viewer component are you referencing in your post so that we can make sure we handle the case correctly?

Thanks for your time.

Kind regards,

Hello,

There are some samples already provided in RadControls for Silverlight Q1 2012 SP1. In that only i've seen the pdf viewer sample!

Hi Raghav,

The RadControls for Silverlight suite is different from RadControls for Windows Phone since both platforms require controls that should follow different user experience patterns. So, what's included in RadControls for Silverlight is not meant to work on Windows Phone although the Windows Phone platform is based on Silverlight.

We have considered porting our PDF Viewer for Silverlight to Windows Phone but for now I cannot give you an exact estimation whether we will do this and when.

Let me know in case you have further questions.

Kind regards,

Hello Raghav,

Writing a PDF viewer is not a trivial task and would take significant amount of time and a lot of developer experience. It requires research on what type of PDF libraries for creating object models of the document exist, as well as how the document can be rendered. Giving a couple of hints and samples will not be much helpful but you can start with that.

Let us know in case you have further questions regarding RadControls for Windows Phone.
