Hi,

Since coming back from the Christmas break the radeditor lite control in MOSS 2007 no longer works.  We can enable and disable the feature and have it set to work in IE and other browsers, but MOSS ignores the setting and uses the ActiveX editor in IE and nothing in other browsers.  Nothing has changed recently except the installation of the security patch for MOSS releaded in October 2007.  I have tried restracting the solution and reploying it with no effect.

No errors appear in any of the logs.

Interestingly the radeditor web part does work, just not the replacement editor feature.

Can anyone offer any help as to how to resolve this please!?

Thanks for your help.

Rob

Hello Rob,

Verify that the following file exists on your MOSS server after you activate the RadEditor features: \Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\CONTROLTEMPLATES\RadEditorList.ascx. If the file is there but you still do not see the editor, try restarting the MOSS web application (do an iisreset).

If the file is not there even after you activate the features, you can copy it manually from the following folder: \Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\RadEditorFeature\. After you copy the file, restart the MOSS web application.

Kind regards,

Hi,

Thanks for your response.  Much appreciated indeed.

Oddly I tried it again today and it is working.... Nothing has changed since yesterday except the web application pools will have been recycled overnight.  Perhaps that did the trick!

Thanks again.

Hi Rob,

I am glad that the problem was resolved. It must have been a caching issue - once MOSS loads the original HTML editor for lists it cannot be changed until you recycle the whole web application.
