Hey, after I installed DevCraft complete, I can no longer edit and continue in Visual Studio 2010. I get the "Changes are not allowed in the following cases" message. What part of DevCraft complete could be causing Edit and Continue to fail? Since I installed the entire package, I'm not sure what part is causing it.

And just to be clear:
  1. Edit and continue always worked
  2. I Installed DevCraft complete
  3. Edit and continue now does not work

I've made no other installation changes.

Hi Jason,

 Thank for contacting us.
I suppose that you have to disable our profilers JustTrace and JustMock because when there is a profiler working in VS, Edit and Continue is restricted and this is not caused only by our profilers.
You can disable them and try again.
Furthermore, could you check whether "Enabled Edit and Continue" option is enabled?
Finally, you could also check whether "IntelliTrace events and call information" is enabled? If it is, it will also disable "Edit and Continue".
Thanks.

Kind regards,
Zdravko

Zdravko,
Thank you for your help. I have been successful, though the order that I did things was important. All of the other things you mentioned were set correctly: Edit and Continue was enabled, I have no IntelliTrace options, debug mode was on for the project, and I clicked to disable JustTrace and JustMock. But it did not work.

Only when I:
  1. completely closed out of Visual Studio,
  2. reopened it without loading a solution,
  3. clicked "Telerik" => "JustMock" => "Disable Profiler",
  4. then loaded the solution

did it begin working correctly. If
I disable the JustMock profiler after loading the solution, Edit and Continue still does not work.

Also, JustMock Profiler appears to be enabled by default when Visual Studio loads. I would like to be able to disable this option if it is going to conflict with the Edit and Continue capabilities. Please consider that as a feature request.

Thank you again!
-Jason

Hello Jason,

Thank you for the useful feedback.

As you have stated, it appears, this is an issue with JustMock due to vstest.* modules not being restarted after enabling/disabling our product. This bug should be fixed in future releases.

Also, your feature request has been added in our backlog.

P.S. For reporting a bug and providing beneficial feedback, you have been granted some Telerik points.

Greetings,
