The DropDownButton causes memory leaks by simply declaring it as such:

<telerik:RadDropDownButton/>

GC never frees up the usercontrols where we use the DropDownButton. If we remove it (for test purposes) all is well.
We can't use the Telerik ComboBox either because it's leaking too (see separate thread in combobox forum)

Hi Jorn,

These are known issues. The problem is internally in the Silverlight popup. However we will ship this week Service Pack that addresses exactly these problems - leaking popup controls like DropDown and ComboBox.
You can give them a try once we ship the Service Pack.
