I have a dropdownlist in which a user can select a sub category. In the simulator it shows as expected, but on my Android device it shows a (probably) native selection.

I there a possiblity to give the dropdownlist the html version that I see in the simulator? I am using the Kendo UI framework.

Hello JD,

We're not quite sure we understand your inquiry. Could you please provide more details (screenshots, page in your app) or better yet a http://jsbin.com/ sample that exhibits the desired behavior?

Hi Steve,

jsbin and I are no friends (yet). I always have issues getting my examples to work.

I have attached 2 images that show my issue:
- hardware-filter.png shows what I see on my device
- emulator-filter.png shows how it looks in the simulator.

You will notice that the emulator-filter.png image shows the dropdown items right below the selected item. The hardware-filter.png shows the dropdown items at the bottom of the screen.

I want my app to behave as in the emulator.

Hello JD,

Thanks for the clarification. In this scenario the Icenium simulator (note that it is not emulator) is misleading you as it does not reflect the actual look of the Kendo UI dropdownlist widget.

About your inquiry - currently such scenario is not supported. You would have to use HTML 5 <select> or the Kendo UI combobox widget. Note that the latter behaves differently than a regular dropdownlist and might not be suitable for you.
