We're very happy to have the RadEditor installed and make it easier to insert/manage images.

Still, there's a couple things we're missing which SharePoint did well. Are these features possible in the latest release, or will they be available in a later one?

One, when you reply on a discussion thread, you don't see the text of the post you're replying to. Now, quoting text is way old-school, but consider that (a) SharePoint neatly collapses it on display, and (b) when you're composing a reply, it's nice to see the original text.

Two, SharePoint has this amazing bulletproofing feature that even if you leave the page (accidentally hitting the back button) and then returning, the text is unharmed: it stays. Using RadEditor it gets blanked. That's too bad.

thanks,

Jon

Hello Jon,

Regarding the first issue, can you please provide more details on that? It will be best if you can open a new support ticket (you cannot attach files in the forums) and send us some screenshot showing the behavior in your application with the default editor and the RadEditor control.

As for the second problem - thank you for bringing it to our attention. I logged it in our database and we will investigate the reason for it and provide a fix if possible. Your points were updated for the report.

Best wishes,

Ok, I'll try to make time to that. Thanks for responding quickly. It's not that imperative, it's more of a nice-to-have. But it's simply that out-of-the-box, SharePoint has this simple feature of "quoting" the text that you are replying to.

I suppose, also, that SharePoint could solve this problem by completely redesigning the forums, so that comments can be entered on the thread screen.

Sorry I have not made the time to take this video for you-- as you might have guessed by now, most of the time I need here is in installing the scren video capture software!

The good news is that when I toggle into full-screen mode via F11, I do not get the problem!
