Hi,

I have a problem which I guess many of you have faced. I hope to get a few directions from you. I am building an in house app (iPhone) which would be used by few employees within the organization. When I published the app to app store, Apple refused it saying, because this is an in house app it may not be suitable for app store, to which I agree.

But, what is the best way to distribute the app among the group of employees (say around 30 people)? Should I create a provisioning profile with UUIDs of the device, copy the .iap file on to the server and send it as a link to intended employees? Is there an way to distribute the file without the need to have UUIDs so that new employees can install it without needing to create a new profile?

Also when an iPhone app is created in Telerik Appbuilder, it there an way to specify the icon image of the app? The app file (.iap) generated by AppBuilder has a genetic icon when installed on iPhone. I want to use my own icon image. What is the way to do that?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Hi Sudipta,

Telerik's offering for scenarios like yours is AppManager. AppManager is a mobile app management solution that allows you to easily and securely manage and distribute Android and iOS apps to your end users or testers. You can think of it as a private app store. In it, you can publish your app signed with an in-house certificate and all company employees (or a selected group defined by a store administrator) will be able to install the app without the need of listing all device UDIDs.

Telerik AppManager is only included in the Telerik Platform licenses, so if you want to give it a try, you can start a new trial under a new account to see how it works for you.

Do let us know if you have any further questions about the AppManager product.
