Hi,
I will use RadEditor for quite a large collection site. I have no problem to install and deploy the solution, but the feature's scope is site level which means that i'll have to go on every website to activate the feature. I was wondering if there were anything I could modify in the wsp or somewhere else to have the features activated by default.
Thanks,
Guillaume.

Hello Guillaume,
Several customers have complained about this problem so we decided to address it in the next editor for MOSS update. Currently, the editor only checks the current site to see if the features are active. We will change it so i also checks the site collection features. This means that you will be able to change the features scope to be the site collection and activate them for all sites at once.
I think this will be a good solution in your case.
Best wishes,

Thank you for your reply,
Now that the solution is deployed and the feature activated on each website i was wondering how I could enable this feature by default on every new website being created. I ve tried to modify site definitions to include the feature but it doesn t seem to work because only an administrator can activate this feature where some users can create websites. Any solution ?

Hi,
It is not possible to have our feature activate when you create a new web. There is a feature attribute called ActivateOnDefault, but unfortunately it does not apply to site or web scoped features. However, if you have an active RadEditor feature in the Site Collection and you create new web sites (e.g. a new personal site for a user) then the editor should be active in those new sites as well. This means that the proposed workaround in my last message (changing the scope of the RadEditor feature) should do the job in your case.
Sincerely yours,
