Hi,

We are now using team pulse to manage our TFS work items.
For some reason we want to use the a multiple project synchronization pattern as described here :
http://www.telerik.com/agile-project-management-tools/blogs/11-02-11/new-tfs-sync-features-in-teampulse-2010-q3-sp2.aspx

To ensure that our Work items created from TeamPulse will effectively be configured in the appropriated area before any TFS sync, we would like to add a default value for the Area Field. We tried to customize the Project configuration like that but it does not seems to be working...

        <Rule xsi:type="DefaultValueRule" IsActive="true" DefaultValue="All/Project" FieldName="Area" />

Any idea how it could be done ?

Thanks,

Rodolphe

Hi Rodolphe,

Unfortunately we do not support setting default value for areas and iterations and you will need to handle that manually. What I can suggest you is to use assignment panels on View Stories/Bugs screens or Backlog screen (check attached screenshot). This way you can select multiple items in the grid and assign them to the selected area or iteration.

I will add a new feature request in our TeamPulse project for setting default area for a project.

Kind regards,

Hi Elena,
I'm very interesting in having this functionality as well.
Being able to defined a default area for a project would be great.  I'm in the same situation as Rodolphe where we are sync'ing several Teampulse project to one TFS Team project, and we are filtering work items by area....
do you know if/when this feature would be available?

Best regards,
Patrick

Hi Patrick,

I agree that this would be useful, unfortunately this feature has not yet been scheduled. However I will raise it again to our product owner based on your feedback and perhaps that will increase it's backlog priority.

All the best,
