There are two factors that affect the choice of RadTimeline.CurrentItemInterval
- The current values of RadTimeline.VisiblePeriodStart and .VisiblePeriodEnd and
- The available horizontal space for the intervals.
This means that in order to make initial ItemInterval Day, you need adjust VisiblePeriod Start/End so that for the current width of the control, day interval is the current one (you need to make the visible range smaller). I am afraid that currently there's no easy way to determine the optimal visible range, so you will need to do this manually.
