This would be a killer - and a major advantage over competitors.
We have a couple of PG plugins (like ChildBrowser) which we cannot really test and debug in the simulator.

Thanks!

Hi John,

We already have support for that.

It works for iOS6 with Web Inspector enabled. You must go to Safari Advance settings on the device to enable the Web Inspector.

Then in "Devices" pane you can expand the device and there you should see your app as debuggable. You can debug websites with this utility as well. You can see some screenshots of this in our v1 release notes here.

I hope this cleared up how to enable it.

Is this something that is going to be implemented for Android?

Hi Marcus,

Android's WebKit implementation lacks the Web Inspector introduced in iOS 6 (which is really just a part of the regular upstream WebKit). This means that it won't be as easy for us to offer the same functionality for Android devices, but this is definitely something we're researching at the moment.

I have an issue now where I would LOVE to have a debugger on Android. Any news on that?

My app is running fantastic in the simulator, but there is a lack of response for about 5 seconds after the app has started on my android phone.

Hello Jan-Dirk,

I'm afraid there aren't any new developments on the Android Remote Web Inspector front.

Is there any way I could debug application on my android phone?
The problem is that I'm using Barcode Scanner plugin and SQLLite plugin in my application, and I cannot make use of emulator debugger any more.

Hello Filip,

We are looking at how to improve debugging on device for Android and Ion scenarios, but with no development so far. Until then your only option is to write some Javascript code that alerts or logs the values of interest for debugging purposes.

For Android you can try jsHybugger, which can be very easy used together with Icenium. Just download the jsHybugger Plugin and add(import) it to your project, no further manual configuration is necessary.
