Can I have custom icons for "Save" and "Cancel" buttons of ImageEditor? More specifically how can I give look and feel similar to AppBar buttons to save and cancel buttons?

For benefit of those who are looking for ImageEditor UI customization, I found way to edit image editor UI.
Steps are as follows:
1. Open page containing image editor in design view.
2. In document outline window expand visual tree and select image editor.
3. Right click image editor control and select edit template option.
4. Choose appropriate option that suits you.
5. It will add template for image editor.
6. You can directly modify xmal code or design ui in expression blend.

Editing the Control's template is the way to change the images in those buttons. You've found the correct approach.
