Hi,

I have an issue with Cross tab report export option. When I export the report to CSV format it shows nothing in it. Would you please guide me if any setting is needed for this?. Also can we remove any export option from the Export drop-down list?

Thanks,
Deepak Saboji

Hi Deepak,

As you can see from the Product Sales per Period demo report, the export to CSV does contain all the relevant data, but still there might be some problems. That is why we would need more info about your crosstab setup. Providing us with a runnable sample report which we can run and test upon locally would be the best way to proceed.
As for your second inquiry, please review the following KB article for more info: Limit export options in ReportViewer to certain format only.

All the best,

Hi Ravi,

The reporting rendering extensions do not work with data directly. All rendering mechanisms aim to represent the report structure and how it visualizes data.
This include Data denormalization in order to produce 2D presentation in SCV format. As a result not all Crosstab structures can be exported in CSV - Design Considerations for CSV Rendering

If you need only data in the CSV file, you can skip the Reporting CSV rendering and create your own "serialization" of data into CSV, saved into a text file. For example, check this stackoverflow discussion.

Stef
