Your best option is to attach to either OnClientItemClicking, or OnClientItemClicked events. Please, review the Client-side API section of the Telerik demos - Client-side Events - http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/rotator/examples/clientapi/defaultcs.aspx.
