Running VS2008 pro V3.5 SP1
C:\Program Files\Telerik\RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX Q2 2009
dll version 2009.2.701.20

File > Create New Website
Select RadControls vb.net Website

Creates Site
All Controls respond saying Could not load file or assembly Telerik.Web.Ui, Version 2009.2.701.20  Cannot find file specifed.

Dlls are in the Bin folder

Web Config refs include - N\ote that it never include a version.

<

add tagPrefix="telerik" namespace="Telerik.Web.UI" assembly="Telerik.Web.UI"/>

This is a fresh install - of both VS2009 and RadControls
Running Vista. Is it some BS Vista thing? I have UAC turned OFF.

Tried repeatedly to run the 'Configure Telerkik  Web Site'

Please don't suggest adding to GAC.. I really don't want to have to deal with version control within each of the pages.

wtf ??

It seems deleting the suite of  toolbox controls that are automatically created by telerik on install and reinstalling them via Add Items has solved the issue. Good luck to others.

this problem keeps coming back. If I close my solution and reopen it.. all controls lose their grahical representations. Any idea how to fix this issue?

I'm having the same issue except even reloading toolbox doesn't help. I also have a ticket open for this problem but no responce yet. If you get this solved please post back. Thanks

Well I think I solved my issue. I recently rebuilt my pc and had not installed Office 2007 sp2 or VS 2008 sp1 yet. I just did and now I see the RadGrid where before I got the error you see. I believe I remember Office files being involved with the RadControls designer but not sure. Anyway make sure you are up to date on the sp's. Good luck.
