Is there any way to customise the TileView header so that I get rid of the header (or of the intire frame) and retain the Minimise & Maximise icons alone with my content?!

The easiest way to achieve this is to edit the item template in Blend. Could you please examine the attached project and if you have any further questions feel free to ask.
