Hi All,

This is a error I get whenever I start recording using Visual Studio 2008 Pro and Telerik Studio Express. I also tried using Visual Studio 2010 Pro and it still gave me the same error. How can I go about fixing this error? Is there a specific version of Telerik I should use with Visual Studio 2010 Pro or with Visual Studio 2008.

Hi Cilistan,

I'm sorry you are running into this problem. The problem is that our tool requires an administrator level access to function properly in Visual Studio(first solution in this article). Otherwise our Test Studio plug-in does not get the level of access required to connect to IE. You can perform one of the following actions in order to record and run your tests successfully.

1. Right click on the visual studio icon and select "Properties". Once the program's properties launched, switch to" Compatibility" tab and enable the option named "Run this program as an administrator". Click "Apply" button to save the change, and from now on visual studio will be launched with administrator privilege.

2. If you're running Vista, Win 7 or Win 2008 you can change the UAC Settings to Never notify (see screenshot).

Kind regards, Plamen

Hi,

I think I sent my previous message too early because I am encountering another error at the moment. After I log onto the website I'm testing the web application does not respond anymore (not responding). It records the hole log in but once I'm logged in everything freezes.

How do I fix this problem?

Kind regards,
Cilistan.

Hi Cilistan,

We currently have a known issue with the RadRibbonView control. The issue is logged here: Public URL. Are you using RadRibbonView in your application? If not, the best way for us to troubleshoot the issue is to see it first-hand. Please provide us with the means to reproduce the issue locally.

If any of that information is sensitive, you can file and attach it to a support ticket, which is confidential unlike this forum thread.

Greetings,
