Hello,

we are trying to connect this control to sybase iq database in order to improve the performance using OLAP technology, but the control's connectiĆ³n only defines an user, password an query that execute a full scan read, so the perfrmance is not so good,

Do you know any solution to make a good connection to Sybase IQ?

Thanking in advance,

Regards,

Hi Javier,

May I ask you for more information what are the issues you have faced? Are you unable to connect RadPivotGrid or you have some other problems? When you use XmlaDataProvider on its initialization we send six requests to get the metadata for the cube (dimensions, measures, KPIs, Sets, etc.). Once the user selects the dimensions and measures for grouping and updates the provider, we send a single request to get the needed data and after that it is populated in RadPivotGrid.

Hopefully this makes sense. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Rosen,

I would like to know, if you have some experience or similar case with IQ sybase database,  because we could test to SQL Server, but in our case we don't find a xmladata provider in IQ
Thanks,

Hello Javier,

Unfortunately we have not tested RadPivotGrid with every possible Cube. The idea of our pivot is that it supports the XMLA protocol, so every Cube that can give you XMLA access is suitable for using with RadPivotGrid.

I'm not sure if the IQ Sybase supports XMLA, but if it does and you have any probles with the connection between RadPivotGrid and the Cube, we'll be glad to help you.
