Connecting to Shapes

I am trying to connect to the shapes using points but not working. Please see the sample below.

Can you suggest how i can resolve this.

Added to the question posted above, can you please let us know  if connectionsDataSource supports custom layout? If not what is approach we need to follow to resolve above issue.

Hello,

I am not sure if I understand the question. Could you provide more detailed information on what exactly are you trying to achieve? The connections can be connected to the shapes only by the shape ids. If you wish to specify the connection start and end point then you can use the fromX, fromY, toX and toY fields but the shapes will not be connected in this case.
