I don't think this is an issue with the combobox, but it doesn't get hidden in IE7/8. It does in FF and Chrome. The list open up behind the  applet. Does anybody have an suggestions?

Are you using any form of z-index to set the layers of your application? I'm not sure how java applets work with this, but defining a z-index for your elements should take care of an issue like this.

Tired z-index. Java applets do not respond to the setting.
