Hi,

If I try and re-order grid columns by dragging IE8 freezes when in compatibility mode.  In normal mode its fine.  This also affects IE7.  This happens for both client and server side reordering - it seems there is some begin-drag stuff firing which kills the browser.  Has anyone alse experienced this issue?  I wouldnt care except that we have a big user base still on Ie7 - if I cant resolve this I cant use the telerik grid.  Thanks

Hi Marcus,

If you want to use Telerik's rad controls in older versions of Internet Explorer (IE7 & IE8) then you will have to use a much older version of our software to ensure that it works by IE's old requirements. Since IE9, Microsoft has been moving closer towards the web standards that other browsers (such as Firefox and Chrome) implement. The latest RadControls version supported by IE8 is outlined here. IE7 is very outdated and will have trouble handling controls that even IE8 displays. Even Google has dropped support for IE8 and older. If it isn't possible to target a user base using newer browsers than IE7 and IE8 then it will be very difficult for you to work around issues stemming from newer releases of Telerik's software.

Good luck,
Master Chief
