Will we finally be able to "preview" coded "NeedsDataSource" reports inside of visual studio with the new Roslyn compiler\VS2014? Seems like it was made for things such as this...

Hi Steve,
Please elaborate on the requested functionality. A step-by-step description of the flow of operations and the expected result will be helpful to better understand the scenario.

Right now if you use the datasource components you can just click the "Preview" tab to render the results.
However if you have a coded report via NeedsDataSource or something else then you have no preview. You have to build the project then wait for the site with the viewer to come back to life to THEN render the report. So you can't create a report independent of some external viewer...would like it to be rendered in the designer like the others.

Hello Steve,
Please post an example of the logic executed on firing the NeedDataSource event and we will check the scenario.
On a side note, the NeedDataSource event major purpose is to supply data for the subscribed to it data item. Modifications of the report structure in events are not recommended - Understanding Events.
