It would be nice if JC knew that .config files (web.config and the like) were XML and could be cleaned as XML.

It would be REALLY nice if there were a separate set of cleaning rules for .config files.

Just an idle Monday morning thought.

Hi,

 Thanks for contacting us.
I created a PITS item for your suggestion, where you can track its progress and how the users accept the idea by voting for it.
I want to mention that we already recognize the .config files as XML and also we are formatting them properly.
Thanks and have a nice day.

All the best,

Really.

Cleaning the config files here has no effect.

Hi Stuart,

Actually, we are providing only Format code functionality for XML files so far.
"Cleaning the config files here has no effect."
Should I understand that your code is not formatted after running the Clean Code command ?
Also I would like to ask you what cleaning rules are you expecting to see for config files?
Thanks.
