Hello Telerik Team,

Am using a Rad Window, with some divs as shown

When i select any div at first time, it got focused and selected. But when select other , it is not getting focused and selected.

This is working fine in IE7,8 but not working in IE9. Am using RadWindow.Net2.dll with a version 1.9.1.0 and asp.net 2.0

But this works fine , when there are more than one tab opened in IE9 browser. Dont know whether this is related to IE or Rad issue.
Please help me on this.

Thanks for your time,
Vinay

Hello Vinay,

I suppose this issue is because you are using older version of the control, you need to upgrade at least to Q1 2011. Q1 2011 is fully compatible with IE9. Check the following KB article which explains more about this.
Updating RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX to another version or license

Hello Shinu,

Thanks for your Reply. Is there any work around for this as i may not upgrade to newer version now.

Hello Vinay,

Shinu is correct that such old versions cannot support browsers that have been released several years after the controls have been made. I am sorry to say that there is no easy way to fix this compatibility, especially since we have no longer been developing and supporting the version you are using (the so-called "Classic" suite) for quite some time. More information on that is available here.

What I can suggest is that you induce the IE8 mode under IE9 by adding a meta tag as explained by Microsoft here.

Best wishes,

Hi Marin,

Thanks for your quick reply.
Can i use IE7 meta tag for a work around instead of IE8 , as our application supports only IE7 mode.

Thanks,
Vinay

Hi Vinay,

Since your application has been designed for IE7 you should have included this tag from the start to avoid IE8 and IE9. This means that, yes, you can set the compatibility mode to IE7 as well.

Hi Marin,

The IE7 meta tag was already included from the start.Sorry to miss that.

But this still didnt solved my problem.

Is there any other thing that i have to do ?

Thanks,
Vinay

Hi Vinay,

Could you please open formal support ticket and send us a sample page reproducing the problem so we can examine and debug it locally?

On a side note, is the described functionality working outside of RadWindow, on a simple HTML page without any controls?

Kind regards,
Dobromir
