Hi Darryl,
We just pointed out that it is not possible in the current version of the product, we never implied that this is a permanent state and we won't consider this for subsequent versions.

Yikes, Steve - that link (http://www.telerik.com/forums/known-limitations-of-telerik-reporting) is from 2008 - 7 years ago. You still don't have tooltips as an available action in the HTML5 rendering? Is it planned/scheduled??

Tooltips are media specific feature, which we consider having in some of the rendering mechanisms (the feature is not planned for development yet).
