Im using Menu control, and have tried for several hours now to get any of the offered download skins to apply, and no way - this thing has to hate me.

The read me in the zip file is horrible.

I read the VS2005 help that installed with the control, and followed its simple one/two steps, but NO WaY.

Please, someone who knows, reply with exact steps to apply a skin using menu control with VS2005 / v2.0 Framework, thanks.

Hello Klaus,

Version 4.0 of r.a.d.menu came with a brand new skinning mechanism, using different classes, as the rendered html is much different form that of the previous versions. The .zip archives you have downloaded from http://www.telerik.com/skins are for version 3.7, and this is why you cannot them get to work properly.
We are currently adding the new versions' skins of r.a.d.controls, and in a few days they will be available for download.

In the meantime, you can check out your RadControls/Menu/Skins folder and copy the desired skin from there, as all r.a.d.menu 4.0 skins are included in the QSF.

Will these new control skins follow the same naming scheme for all the controls and the same way of implementing them?

We are currently using an eval version of your controls to see if we can use it in our enterprise applications. One of the problems we ran into was to have a consistent look of the controls - for example we want to use tabstrip for navigation and a panelbar on the side and having a tough time picking the right combinations so it looks put together well.

thanks
Elena

Hello Elena,

With Q2.2006 all r.a.d.controls but r.a.d.panelbar, already come with a full set of 6 common skins. You can check this QSF example, to see an example of a page with several r.a.d.controls, running together and using one of these common skins.

Currently we are updating r.a.d.panelbar, and that's why it is not yet included in the new skinning logic.

Kind regards,

Hi everyone,

for all you eval users, please let me tell you that it was my fault, the skins didn't work because I download the wrong ones.

After the fine people at Telerik informed me teh correct ones to use, let me say, they are beautiful!

I have used Infragistics, ComponentOne, and the other big names, and none compare to these Telerik controls; they are a pleasure to work with. We have the whole suite.

Thanks for all your help tech support!
