After installing Telerik Silverlight controls developer edition when I try to run the upgrade wizard it only shows the triail versions in the Silverlight Settings combo box.  The conbo box in the Toolbox configurator shows the developer version (Rad Controls for Silverlight , v 2011.1.419.1040 (Dev) [Install Folder].  Why can't I see the developers version in the upgrade wizard?

Before installing the developers version, I un-installed the trial version.  How do I get rid of the references to the trial version in the upgrade wizard and in the toolbox configurator?

Hello Bruce,

A possible reason for the problem could be if for some reason the Dev assemblies failed to deploy properly during the installation. Could you please start again RadControls_for_Silverlight_4_2011_1_0419_Dev.msi installer and choose the repair option.

As for the trial versions if you have downloaded such versions through the Upgrade wizard or through notifications this versions are saved in the following location: %appdata%\Telerik\Updates\. If you browse to that location and delete the trial versions they won't be available in the upgrade wizard any more.

Let me know if  that helps.

Thank you for your prompt response.  I did what you suggested today (I deleted the trial version folders in "application data\telerik\updates" and that removed the items from the update combo box.

I performed the MSI repair and that did not put the developers version in the VS 2010 | Telerik | Rad Controls for Silverlight | Upgrade Wizard | Silverlight Settings combo box.

My associate Dan tells me I should inform you that we are running VS 2010 Version 10.0.40219.1 Sp1Rel .Net Framework version 4.0.30319 Sp1Rel on Windows XP Service pack 3.

Bruce

The same thing is happening to me now in the same environment.
On one of my projects, if I switch my Debug Configuration to Release and hit the upgrade wizzard, it will go to version .315.  But if I switch my configuration back to Debug it will show the correct version.

But now the Debug is showing .315 again.  On the upgrade wizard, when I click download, I get a 'Newer version check result: Not found." in red. Should that be the correct result?

It seems to work now if I check Tekerik->VSExtensions Options->SIlverlight->Latest Version Retrieval->Include Internal builds in Latest Version update and retrieval.  It gets .620

Now when I try to use the silverlight upgrade wizard, I see the .419 version, but not the .620.  It's like it's always missing the latest one.

Hello Dan,

In the upgrade wizard we do not list the version which is currently used in the project (the currently used version could be seen in the Configure wizard - right click on the project in the solution explorer and select RadControls for Silverlight -> Configure Project). That means that if the project uses .419 version when you start the upgrade wizard you will see only the rest of the version available on your machine. If the project uses version different from .419 than it will be listed when you start the upgrade wizard.

If this is not the case could you please send me the following information:
1. The version of the controls in the install location (navigate to the install location of the controls. By default this is C:\Program Files\Telerik\RadControls for Silverlight\Binaries\Silverlight\ and check the version of Telerik.Windows.Controls.dll - right click on it select Properties and lock for Product version in the Details tab). Give me all installed version if you have more than one.
2. The versions of the downloaded versions in the %appdata%\Telerik\Updates\
3. The version of the VSExtensions (In VS2010 select Tools -> Extension Manager, select the Telerik Silverlight VSExtensions and see the version on the right).

As for the Debug and Release configuration, they don't affect the versions in the upgrade wizard at all.
