I'm using Radeditor for ASP.NET AJAX Q3 2009.  Works fine in IE and Firefox, but in Chrome and Safari users are not able to change the font size, style or apply CSS classes.  What can I do to make this work?

Hi,

I was unable to reproduce the reported problem. Are you able to reproduce it with the Default Settings live demo of RadEditor. If so, could you please provide steps to reproduce it and specify the exact Safari and Chrome browsers' versions that you use.

If the problem is not reproducible in the live demo, upgrade to the latest build Q1 2010 SP1 and test again.

Kind regards,

Hi there

You can duplicate the problem by dragging 2 RadEditors onto an ASPX page and viewing it in Chrome.  You will be able to change the font in the first editor but not on the second one.  I tested this on numerous PCs.  I'm not trying to use 2 editors on one page, but when there's more than a certain number of controls on one page and the editor is at the bottom of the page, you can't change the font in the editor.  If I move the Editor to the top of the page, it works.

Hi D O,

I tried the reported scenario by placing two editors on the page but I am still unable to replicate the reported problem. You can see my test at http://screencast.com/t/YzU4ZWU3Z. I also attached my project. Could you please modify it so that it reproduces the problem and send it for examination through a support ticket?

My recommendation is to upgrade to the latest version Q1 2010 SP2 (version 2010.1.519), which should fix the problem on your end.

Best wishes,
Rumen

Was a resolution ever found for this problem?  I have the same issue with Chrome.  I have several Telerik controls on the page and the Editor is the last one.  The font, font size and color buttons do not function.  All other browsers are OK.  We run version 2009.3.1103.20.

Hi Matt ,

Since I was unable to reproduce this odd browser problem, my suggestion is to upgrade Telerik.Web.UI.dll to its latest Q2 2010 version. After that if you still experience the problem, isolate it in a sample working project and send it for examination by opening a support ticket. Once we are able to replicate the problem on our side, we will do our best to fix it.

Kind regards,

Hi there

No I wasn't able to fix the problem, even though the Telerik guys said they couldn't re-produce the problem.

I did some tests and found that if I simply add 2 editors into an ASPX page and kept the page basic and simple, the Editors worked perfectly in all browsers, including Chrome and Safari.

But...as soon as I added more telerik controls and added a little bit of complexity to the page with postbacks, AJAX etc, the editors all of a sudden behaved strangely again and I wan't able to change fonts, CSS styles, colours etc.

Eventually I had to re-write my entire application and only use a limited number of controls on pages with the editor.  I use the same version 2009.3 of the controls as you.

As described by D O, I also have many controls on the page (3 RadGrids, 2 RadEditors, several RadSplitters and a RadToolBar).  The page uses Ajax for most postbacks.  You can see the page by going to http://www.threadthat.com and creating a free account (only email address, username and password are required to create an account).  After a successful login, navigate to the Thread Console, open the welcome Thread (by clicking on it in the grid) and then click the Reply button.  The RadEditor that displays at this point is the one that does not work correctly under Chrome.  Since I cannot upgrade to the latest version without paying for it, I am telling my users that if they need to format their replies, they need to use a different browser.  This is not the best solution, but it is the only one I have for now.

The problem is reproducible in your demo page http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/editor/examples/overview/defaultcs.aspx
using Chrome 32.0.1700.76
When trying to change font size and font family it does not change
try to clear all text (CTRL+A), delete and type a new text, then select the text and try to change to size/family

Hello Oren,

Due to breaking changes introduced in the latest Chrome version, the dropdowns in the toolbar of the RadEditor control appear broken. This issue is already fixed in the latest version of Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX suite (2013 Q2 SP2) and you can test again with our updated demos.

More information about this matter can be found in these materials:
