Hello,

I would like to add a request for a calendar plugin to be added to the plugins collection.  Being able to work with the calendar on the phone is terribly useful.

Thanks,

Pierre

Hi Pierre,

Thanks for your request. We are hard working on adding support for any custom plugin in Icenium as this is the most requested feature by our community. Having it in place will enable support for the Calendar plugin out of the box.

Hi Pierre,

This is just a follow up in case you have missed the Icenium 1.6 release, where we've added the ability to add Plugman-compatible Apache Cordova plugins to your Icenium project. For more information, see Working with Custom Plugins help article.

Hello Steve,

I am trying to use calendar plugin in my app(for IOS and Android Platform). I found them here https://github.com/purplecabbage/phonegap-plugins/tree/master/Android/CalendarPlugin and https://github.com/phonegap/phonegap-plugins/tree/master/iOS/CalendarPlugin. 1.How do I integrate both this plugins in one project?  2. Do I have to have to separate plugin.xml ? 3. Will  it possible to have a sample app which demonstrating use of these plugins? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello Dnyaneshwar,

Thank you for your interest in Icenium. To answer your questions:
  1. you should follow the instructions in the Making a Custom Plugin Plugman-Compatible help section for each plugin.
  2. Yes, you would need separate plugin.xml files in the root folder of each plugin. Generally it is possible to combine them into a single plugin, but that would require extra efforts.
  3. You can find implementation instructions in this blog post.

Hi Steve,

Any chance you have a sample project of the Calendar plug-in ?  I have tried two different versions from GitHub with no success.   One version supports the Cordova 2.8 and appears to follow plugin.xml standards.     Will  Cordova 2,8 support be available soon?

Thanks,

Hello Randall,

We would directly migrate to Cordova 3.0 in the upcoming 1.8 version of Icenium, but if the plugin works in Cordova 2.8, it would work in 2.7 as well. Can you elaborate what is the problem with the plugin - do you receive build errors or anything else? As we did not find a project in your account that contains the calendar plugin you refer to, if you still need help, give us a link to the plugin and we would see if we can help.

Steve

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the prompt reply.   I overlooked the documentation that states "Custom Apache Cordova plugins are not supported in the simulator and in Icenium Ion".   Its time to enroll in the Apples Developer program so I can provision my development bits.

I added the custom plugins for the calendar events back to my project if you want to take a look.   I can post this on github after testing for others.

Best regards,

Randy Melton
