Hi all,
I have created a publishing site in SharePoint and I have created page layouts for creating content pages. I have used various field controls for adding contents in the pages like HTML Editor, Image Formatter, etc; I replaced the default HTML editor with Rad Editor Lite version for MOSS. Everything worked fine in my system. But some days back I had to migrate my entire web application to a different server. So, I had to carryout the installation of RadEditor Lite Version for MOSS in the new server too. But there arose a strange problem. The bullets which I have used for some contents inside the RadEditor are not appearing at all. But, when I try to edit the contents in edit mode, the bullet is appearing fine. The only thing is when I Save the contents and Check in for publishing, the bullets vanish. And also there are some minor issues like underline not appearing for urls, alignment problems, etc; What could be the root cause of such an aberrant behavior? If anybody could find a workaround for this, then let me know. Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Raghuraman.V

Hello Raghuraman,

The problem might be in the styling of the page. Could you provide us with the HTML code, which is in presentation mode and in the RadEditor, when you are in editing mode. Check if the HTML code is different after you save the content again. Also inform us in what scenario you are experiencing the issue. Is it WCM, web part or list scenario?

All the best,

I am encountering this issue in WCM scenario. I have used HTML Editor field control in my page layout. I installed Rad Editor for MOSS Lite version and replaced <publishingwebcontrols:htmlfield> with <radE:RadHtmlField> tag in my aspx pages. It worked fine in my local system but not appearing in presentation mode alone in the new server. Do you want to review the page source of my aspx page rendered in html format in the browser or the code of my aspx page?

Hello Raghuraman,

Could you provide me with the HTML code that you are inserting in the RadEditor and the HTML code, which you can see in presentation mode? This way I will be able to try reproducing the issue on our test server.

Thank you.

Best wishes,

Hi admin,
Thank you very much for your able support. I fixed the issue at last. As you pointed out, due to HTML styling problems the bullets were not displayed properly. I changed the styling and at once everything started to work fine. Thank you very much again. :)

Hello,

I'm getting the same issue (in WCM scenario). The bullets appear fine when the page is in edit mode. But once i check in the page and publish it the formatting is lost. The bullets disappear. I copied the (pre-formatted)content from the word document and just pasted it. I'm using RadEditor for MOSS licensed version, version 5.6.

The HTML code of the content in the editor is given below.

The snapshots are given below.

Note: I also tried pasting it after cleaning the MSO formatting. But got the same result.

Any ideas?
Thank you.

Hello,

I found the problem. The parent styling was causing the issue as i have given float and item-style-type for the element 'li'.

Thank you.
