UPDATE: It is SP3.. sorry
I am trying to activate the new SP3 of TP.. However, I get the following error during Automatic activation:

Thanks for your interest in TeamPulse. From the error you posted I can see that for some reason your machine id is null. Could you please try the manual activation? Hopefully the machine id will be shown there and you will be able to finish the activation. If this approach doesn't work, I'll ask you to share some machine information with us - are you trying to run TeamPulse on PC or Virtual Machine?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for your quick reply.
I am trying to run TP from my PC (running Windows 7 Ultimate, on a local SQL server).
Tried the manual activation but machine id is not showing. What is this machine Id? Where is it coming from?

Could you try running the exe file from the rar and send us the result that appears in the console?

We have some problems with that string. I've attached another exe that will output more log information in the console. Can you send me the output?
Best wishes,Jordan

Sometimes our installer doesn't get the full permission to construct the machine id. You can try two thing.
1. Try to install the TeamPulse as administrator. If this doesn't work please run it as
msiexec /a {msi} /log c:\installer.log and send us the log file.
2. Put the MachineID 55fdX1ps3B7WI1I2UKIqYzyEAFYB2jJGSZKCBQXm0oU= in the configuration files.
They are under the installation folder of TeamPulse C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik\TeamPulse.
You have to add the MachineID in
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik\TeamPulse\wwwroot\Web.Config"
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik\TeamPulse\UserManagement\Web.config"
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik\TeamPulse\IntegrationService\TeamPulse.Integration.Service.exe.config"
The MachineID key looks like:
<appSettings>
...
<add key="MachineID" value="4rx6pOyqx+8G0jtDEq0B1+AxxG13IZ8rVpV5Q4GHHns=" />
</appSettings>

I have a similar problem but instead of getting the error message for activation, I can't even load the activation page. I tried installing Telerik_TeamPulse_Standard_Edition_R1_2011 on 2 different PC with windows 7 Professional and I couldn't get to the activation page. See below for the error. On the physical drive, there's no physical folder called Activation at the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik\TeamPulse\UserManagement. Let me know if you have any solution for this. Thanks.

As per information Vinh provided in a support ticket, it seems that his 404 error was resolved by ensuring that the TeamPulse_APP_POOL was running under integrated rather than classic mode.

Do you want to be able to directly talk to our professionals and ask questions about the things that interest you?
Reserve a seat for the TeamPulse Weekly Live Demo today!
After upgrading to Teampulse 2012 R2 (ontop of 2011 R2) I now get the same issue as Vinh.
I've tried to reinstall -but to no avail!
Please advise
Pete
I am really sorry for the troubles you are facing.
Could you please cooperate by providing us with the following information?
1. Please send us screenshot of TeamPulse installation directory structure. Are there some missing folders as it is in Vinh's case?
2. Please check your TeamPulse IIS settings and verify they are exactly the same as described here: http://www.telerik.com/agile-project-management-tools/support-resources/kb/setup-windows-and-forms-authentication-in-iis.aspx
3. Please ensure that TeamPulse Application Pool is in Integrated managed pipeline mode.
4. Please send us the web-log.txt which you can find under {TeamPulse_Install_Dir}\Logs.
Another thing that you can try is to execute:
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319>aspnet_regiis -i
Your own .net version may be different, especially if you are in the future, so the above path may not be exactly right.
