[Bug report] Test recorder by unreliable / deadlocks?

    Hello,

    We are evaluating your product and trying to create a few simple automated UI tests in WPF. However, when we try and record opening few windows (just 3 or 4 clicks), we either have:

     

    1) The host app crashing

    2) The popup in "highlighting" mode hangs (looks like a deadlock), recording tools stop responding

     

    Unfortunately I cannot give you our app, but maybe I can somehow enable logging to provide more information?

    Hello Geert,

    Unfortunately without having the application to reproduce the behavior we cannot investigate this behavior any further. Is your application fully WPF application?
    A stripped-down version of the application that reproduces the behavior also could work for us.

    Hello Ivaylo,

    Thanks for your reply. We have decided to stop investigating the product since too many issues have arisen which have already taken a fair amount of our time. Therefore we won't be providing the application (we don't want to loose any more time on this).

    I hope you will find a repro for this issue in the future so you can fix this for other users.

    Hi Geert,

    This is Konstantin from the engineering team. I'm following closely reports like this and I completely understand your concerns. I would like to take just a bit more of your time please, if possible, because we may either have that fixed internally or be close to isolate it.

    Can you please send us the application log? It often helps us to figure out what happened so that we can work on solution.

    Also it is worth trying the next official release we are about to publish next week. Besides our focus on integrating Mobile Testing record & playback as well as some UX/UI improvements, it contains a number of stability fixes we are working hard on. I can follow up in the thread here as soon as we get it live for your convenience.
