I was comparing the data gathered by Eqatec on browser statistics to Google Analytics and noticed the following for identical reporting periods:

IE was the most used browser on Google Analytics, it was not listed at all in the Eqatec monitor
Firefox and Chrome were the only browser listed by Eqatec monitor.

We have the Eqatec monitor set to start on page load, as does the other tool. Is there something I'm missing?

Hi John,

It is not an issue that I am aware. We use user-agent sniffing on the server to determine the hosting browser and use a relative standard library for determining browser and version. I know that other projects receive browser statistics that include IE so we do detect it. I just dug into the data and as you mentioned, Firefox and Chrome are the two major browsers, IE is currently only registered with two sessions.

I'd like to help you investigate the issue, so I've enable some data capturing in our pipeline on data from your product and I can inspect the data to see the specific user-agents being received. If you could try your solution a few times from different browsers I can see specifically what we are receiving.

I'll get back to you later with info on what has been received.

Hi John,

I apologize for this delayed response to your question

I've captured the data you have been sending for the past week in order to try to understand your issues with the browser detection. Unfortunately it seems that the data capture mechanism we have for troubleshooting issues does not log the original user agent (which we use to determine the browser) of the requests. So I cannot use this data to better understand the issue a this point.

I'll work on an improvement of our capturing mechanism and get back to you once I have that up and running. I again apologize for this late reply

Hello John,

I've been looking for your data to arrive and it seems that no need data has arrived the last few days. And I can now see that your account was deleted. I do apologize if the delayed response and our incorrect troubleshooting data was part of your decision.

If you have a moment I'd appreciate any feedback, positive and negative, that you have on our current offer. Looking forward to hearing from you.
