I have downloaded Kendo UI and viewed the tutorials and I have found the documentation but it's not easy to figure out. To be honest, the documentation is like Microsoft's - that is to say if you want to know whether to write a colon or a semicolon, it's brilliant. But nowhere does it even begin to explain how to start with Kendo. Has anyone written a book from the perspective of someone new to Kendo who wants to write a project using, say ASP.NET MVC4? And if so, can anyone recommend a good book.

Hello Martin,

I am sorry to hear that you are unable to find the relevant information you need to start building ASP.NET MVC projects with our Kendo UI framework.

If the content from the online/offline MVC demos and the Getting Started and API reference sections of the docs is not sufficient, you may be happy to know that we are working on a full-blown Kendo UI application using Kendo UI Web for desktop and Kendo UI Mobile for mobile client. This app will also make use of the ASP.NET MVC server wrappers we offer with Kendo UI.

It is expected to be ready by the end of the year, and we will contemplate writing a blog post on how it as architectured, designed and built from ground up. This can be useful resource for your starting point, either. Stay tuned for updates later this year.

In the meantime, if other community members can give some helpful hints and pointers that extend the docs and demos, we encourage them to share.

Kind regards,
Sebastian

Sebastian, great to hear that Telerik team is working such a project. Do you have any date on the release of the sample source code?

Hi guys,

The desktop version of this sample app is already available, announced in the Kendo UI Winter Release blog post (source code posted on github). Expect the mobile client by the end of this year or in early 2013.
